Week Oct.30-Nov.03

This week we will begin learning about color black. We will be working on color black activities. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on, are: bat, cat, gorilla, spider, tire, night, gorilla, and panther.(only 5 of these words will be evaluated).

If you have any items at home that are color black, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Thursday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.

On Friday the students will have ¨Black dress day¨ Please have your child wear a black piece of clothing. Thanks a lot for your involvement.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”

I am attaching you the link of the video of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

Book Character Day is around the corner. We are going to be having a celebration on Tuesday, October 31st, We are going to make a trick or treat around the school classrooms,We will separate the candy you all sent this week and delivered them around the school. They are all very excited about this day and we would like to have something nice prepared for them.

Also the kids won't need to bring lunch box this day because they will be having a snack at school, so they won't need lunch.

This week we will begin learning about color brown. We will be working on color black activities. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: chocolate, mud, monkey, horse, and coconut.

If you have any items at home that are color brown, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.

On Friday the students will have ¨Brown dress day¨ Please have your child wear a brown piece of clothing. Thanks a lot for your involvement.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is:

In our Social Studies unit we will continue learning this week about UN DAY (United Nations) and the country we’re learning about is SPAIN. Some of the vocabulary words we will be learning this week are: Flag, code of arms, culture, flamenco dance, world, bulls, king and queen. If you have anything about this topic that you are willing to share with us, we would really appreciate it, you’re welcome to join us into our class.

 

   

Costume party day: This coming October 31^st we will be having our costume party day, so this day kids can come dress up as their favorite character, and also this day kids won’t bring lunch box, or snack because there will be a trick or treat, and goods to share, so we will appreciate if help us at home with a disguise for your child, thanks a lot in advanced.

OCT. 16-20

This week we will be having many amazing activities. We will begin learning about color purple. We will be working on color purple activities. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: grapes, plum, violet, eggplant, balloon. 

If you have any items at home that are color purple, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Thursday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.

On Thursday the students will have ¨Purple dress day¨ Please have your child wear a purple piece of clothing. Thanks a lot for your involvement.

In our Social Studies unit we will be talking about our UN DAY, the country that we will be learning about is Spain, so we will learn about their culture and symbols. We will begin with this unit this week. 

This Friday Oct. 20th  we will be having Parent-Teacher Conferences. You will be getting a note into your child´s backpack stating the time that we have assigned each one of you. Please return this note signed on Wednesday. If you are unable to attend at the time that has been assigned for you let us know and we will work it out at a different time.

Week of 09-13

Dear Parents, 

This will be a Review Week!!! We will be reviewing all the colors that we have studied so far with the corresponding vocabulary words introduced for each color.

 

This week we will be working our second author study which will be about Eric Carle. Eric Carle is an amazing author of the books we will be studying this week. His books are great to encourage creativity, art techniques, life cycles of butterflies and so many more great lessons. The best of it is that he writes in a very fun and friendly way to get children engaged to his stories.

 This week in our science unit we will be talking about THE BUTTERFLY LIFE CYCLE. Some of the vocabulary words we will be learning this week are: butterfly, egg, caterpillar, cocoon, and pupa. If you have any poster or any other material that you are willing to share with the class, we would appreciate if you will let us borrow them from you.
