Week of Nov. 30 - Dec. 4

Dear Parents,
This week we will be continue our first study learning about Shapes. We will be working and learning about the circle. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: plate, orange, cookie, bubbles, ball, CD, and clock.

If you have any items at home that are with the shape of a circle, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home. Thanks a lot for your involvement.

Some of the stories that we will be reading this week are:

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Hey Diddle, Diddle”

I am attaching you the link of the video of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

Challenge at Home is a small activity assigned to do at home during the weekend or the week with children. It could be a short story, a game, a song. Every Monday Morning we will discuss about this little challenge. The objective is to enjoy and to reinforce their learning and comprehension. We always appreciate your involvement with your children’s learning.

For this week, our Challenge at Home will be a little different. It consists about preparing a show and tell about “My Favorite Toy” for Friday. Children will be bringing their favorite toy and talk to us about it. The presentation should be short, like asking who gave that toy to him/her. Hope you have lots of fun preparing this activity.

Our annual Songfest will take place on Friday, December 11th  at 6:30 p.m. Please mark this date and time on your calendar. Take into consideration that this is the time where traffic gets a little bit hectic in this city. They are all very excited practicing their song every day with a lot of enthusiasm. We also want to remind you that your child needs to come in dressed as village people, any doubts or questions about the costume. Please contact us as soon as possible. We are more than available in helping you.

We would love to have a Christmas Party with the children on the last day of school (Wednesday, December 16th). If you have any idea on what or how we can do it we would greatly appreciate if you can contact us via email, whatsapp or at school. Thanks in advance.

Santa Claus will be visiting the children for this Christmas Party!!! We are requesting for you to send a gift so santa can give it to your child. Please send this gift no later than Friday, December 4. The Gift should not be more than 200 lps. Thanks in advance for your collaboration!

Nuestro Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) is an international organization that takes in abandoned and orphaned children, providing a home and education.  Here in Honduras, the NPH organization provides for over 500 children in at large ranch near La Venta and home in Tegucigalpa for severely handicapped children.   While many children at the ranch have aunts, uncles, or grandparents that come to visit them and can provide some Christmas gifts, some children at a ranch have no family to visit.  It is these children, whom we would like to provide for this Christmas.   A paper tree will be sent home that has a child’s information about his/her size for shoes or socks.  Purchase the new item and return it to Mrs. Agurcia’s Room (Rm. 7) by Tuesday, December 8th, with the tree tag taped to it.  Thank you for giving this Christmas!
