Feb. 26-Mar. 02nd

Dear Parents,

This week we will begin working and learning about the star. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: starfish, magic wand, starfruit, badge

If you have any items at home that are with the shape of a star, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday.


This week we will have a Dr. Seuss story time every day of the week which will include cake on Friday!!!


We are going to be exposing the students to a variety of his books. If you happen to have books of Dr. Seuss, we are kindly requesting you to send them with your child to school. We will be sending them back on Friday. Dr. Seuss has a collection of more than 50 books and we would really like the children to be exposed to the majority of them. We are going to be watching and reading his biography. We will also be watching and reading some of the stories that the children are not familiar with.

Next week, Feb. 26th to March 2nd, we will be doing an author study about him and we will celebrate his 104th birthday. In order to honor Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we will be doing many different activities throughout the following week. Here is the dress-up calendar for next week:

We have talked to the students that we have started the hot season in Honduras. PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE EVERY DAY. Have them wear light clothes; they can bring a hat to protect from the sun, put sunscreen on their face and arms.

FEB. 19-23,2018

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for your support in making our Valentine´s day Pancake Party. We had lots of fun! 

This week we will begin working and learning about the oval.The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: watermelon, football, jellybean, beans, egg, potato.

If you have any items at home that are with the shape of an
 oval, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday, The kids get excited to bring things from home.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”

In Social Studies we will continue the unit about Farm Animals. We are going to be discussing the different animals that live in the farm. Children will get the chance to name them and know some of these animals. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: cow, pig, sheep, horse, duck, chicken, hen, rooster. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: THIS COMING THURSDAY FEBRUARY 22ND, WE WILL BE VISITING "AGAFAM" SO THE KIDS CAN LIVE THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE WITH EACH OF THE FARM ANIMALS.
WE WILL BE SENDING A NOTE, SO THAT YOU CAN CONFIRM US IF YOU ALLOW YOUR KIDS TO GO TO THIS TRIP, IT WILL BE FROM: 9:00-10:30AM.
REMINDER: THIS COMING MONDAY FEB.19 IS A HOLIDAY, SO KIDS WON´T COME TO SCHOOL.

Feb. 12-16

This week we will begin working and learning about the heart. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: valentine, shamrock, playing cards.


If you have any items at home that are with the shape of a heart, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday, Feb. The kids get excited to bring things from home.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Skidamarik”

In Social Studies we will continue the unit about Friendship and Feelings. We are going to be discussing the different types of feelings. Children will get the chance to name them and know how to be a good friend and learn the words to express their feelings.. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: love, friends, hug, valentine’s, happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised, shy, worried. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.



As you all know, this Wednesday, we celebrate Valentine´s Day. We will be having snack altogether to celebrate this special day. We will be talking about ways to be nice to each other and we will be discussing Friendship. We would like to make a Pancake Friendship Party. Mrs. Gaby, sent this week in the parents´group (whatsapp chat) what each parent is going to bring, thanks a lot for your colaboration in advanced! 



Resultado de imagen para valentine's day clipartAs Valentine´s Day is around the corner, we are requesting you to help your child decorate a shoe box to be used as their mailbox. Be creative, and let your child brainstorm the ideas that he/she would like their box to look like. We are going to display all these lovely mailboxes on Wednesday for your child to deliver their valentine cards for their friends. This is a voluntary activity. However, if you decide to participate, the only request that we have is that the students should bring one card or treat to each one of the Nursery students. This mailbox should be at school this Tuesday, February 12th.

It is hard to believe that the 100th day of school is quickly approaching and so it is time for us to start planning the festivities. This exciting day is going to be on Friday, February 09th. For this, we would like for you to help your child come dressed with a “100 day of school project.”  Some items that you may want to use are pennies, cotton balls, q-tips, dot stickers, legos, popsicle sticks, wiggly eyes, buttons, etc. The following pictures are just examples of what you can come up with:

 Thank you so much for your help so far, we had so much fun   in the community helpers presentation, kids enjoyed it a lot, and with the firefighters, police officers, and doctors visits.
