Dear
Parents,
This week we will be having many amazing
activities. We will begin learning about color green. We will be
working on color green activities. The vocabulary words we are going to be
focusing on are: frog, leaf, turtle,
pear, snake and broccoli. If you have any items at home that are color green, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Thursday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.
On Thurday the students will have ¨Green dress day¨ Please have your child wear a green piece of clothing. Thanks a lot for your involvement.
For the following two weeks in
our Social Studies unit we will be talking about a gorgeous country HONDURAS. Some of the vocabulary words we will be learning this week are: map, macaw, lempiras(money), white tail deer, pine tree, flag. We are asking for your child to please bring Honduran coins about 2 of each (5,10,20, 50 cents, if you have, by any lucky chance, 1 cent please send it) we will give them back to you when we finish the two week Honduras study. If you have anything extra about Honduras that you are willing to share with us, we would really
appreciate it. You are more than welcome to come into the classroom and talk
about this beautiful country, show pictures, or even share a typical food with
the kids. Let us know in advance if you would like to do a special activity
with the children.
In
Honduras on September 10th of every year we celebrate Children’s Day.
As you were informed in our chat. We would like to make a small celebration to
our kids at snack time on Thursday September 10th. We are asking for
your support with Lps. 60.00 by Wednesday to pay candy bags, cake and juice. Thank you for
your support and involvement.
On Friday
September 11th Early Childhood will be participating on a parade around the
school after the Honduran Typical Breakfast. Children are asked to wear blue
and white clothes. But if your child already has a Honduran typical dress, we would appreciate to have them wear it on this day.
