Let’s learn
about shapes! We will continue learning about the shape of square. Vocabulary
words we are going to be focusing on are: napkin, dice, box, block, and
cracker.
Children love
to play with toys they bring from home, so if at home you have toys related to
what the kids are learning, we will appreciate your help by sending them over.
They will be returned on Friday.
Some of the stories that we will be reading this week
are:
“When I grow”
“Career day”
Nursery rhymes:
“This old man”
“what color is it?” “ABC song: Alphabet train”

In Social Studies we will continue the
unit about Community helpers. We are going to be discussing
the different types of community helpers. Children will get the chance to name
them and learn what they do. The vocabulary words we will be focusing
are: Chef, doctor, vet, policeman firefighter, nurse teacher, and
farmer. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material
that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.
And as it was told
last week: To close our Community Helpers Unit we are planning on a Show and
Tell Presentation that will be on Friday, february 01. Each child will be
assigned with an occupation, they will have to answer the following questions.
"What do I do?" "How do I transport?" "What tools do I
use?" "Where do I work?" Children should come dressed as the
community helper that they have been assinged. We are NOT demanding an
expensive or fancy suit, it is up to you how and what you are going to use.
Children should also bring a poster illustrating the questions, this will be a
help while they present.
