Dear Parents,
This
week we will begin working and learning about the rectangle. The
vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: door, juicebox,
wagon, flag, book, laptop, cellphone, table, tv, and bed.
If you have any toys or items at home that are with the shape of a rectangle, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday that would be very helpful.
Some of the stories
that we will be reading this week are:
The Grouchy Ladybug,
also known as The
Bad-Tempered Ladybird, is a 1977 children's book written by Eric Carle Published by Greenwillow Books., best known
as the author of The
Very Hungry Caterpillar. Based on a 2007 online poll, the National
Education Association named the book one of its "Teachers' Top 100 Books for
Children."
Kids enjoy very much to sing and dance these songs.
In our Science
unit we will be learning about Insects. We are going to
be discussing the different types of insects. Children will get the chance to
name them and identify different kinds of insects. Some of the vocabulary words
we will be focusing are: bee, ant, mosquito, spider, butterfly,
caterpillar, ladybug, grasshopper, dragonfly, fly. If you have any
books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with
us it would be greatly appreciated.
