Sept. 18-22

Dear Parents,
This week we will begin learning about color "orange". We will be working on color orange activities. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: pumpkin, carrot, tiger, gold fish, basketball.
If you have any items at home that are color orange, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.
On Friday the students will have ¨Orange dress day¨ Please have your child wear an orange piece of clothing.
Also, on this day, please pack a "orange snack" in their lunch box. Your child needs to learn the name of the snack that he /she will bring.  Thanks a lot for your involvement.

Some of the stories that we will be reading this week are:

In our Social Studies unit we will continue talking about this gorgeous country HONDURAS. Some of the vocabulary words we will be learning this week are: Map, Macaw, Lempiras(money), White tail deer, Pine Tree, Flag, Orquid. If you have anything about Honduras that you are willing to share with us, we would really appreciate it. You are more than welcome to come into the classroom and talk about this beautiful country, show pictures, or even share a typical food with the kids. Let us know in advance if you would like to do a special activity with the children.

Thanks a lot for all of your help this last week:
