Week of May 16-20

Dear Nursery Parents,
This week we are going to continue working with the alphabet. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound. We will be  playing ABC matcing and many games related in getting familiar with capital and lowercase letters.

In our Science unit we will begin learning about Pets. We are going to be discussing the different types of pets. Children will get the chance to name them and identify different kinds of pets. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the books we are going to be reading this week are the following:


In math, will continue working with numbers. We will work on how to represent and recognize numbers using tally marks, ten frames, name of the number, one-to-one correspondence. This week we will be reviewing numbers 0-10







Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “I have a Pet”
I am attaching you the link of the video of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

On Thursday, May 19th Nursery will be having a birthday celebration for Valentina at Snack time. You do not need to pack snack for your child on this day. Drinks, meal and cake will be provided for the students. 

On Monday, May 23rd Nursery will be having a birthday celebration for Pilar at Snack time. You do not need to pack snack for your child on this day. Drinks, meal and cake will be provided for the students. 


SUMMER CAMPS AT DISCOVERY SCHOOL  - Just like last year, there will be two summer camps in the month of June. Discovery Zone 7 will be a fun, artistic and entertaining camp for children 3 to 9 years old. There will also be a reinforcement camp for reading, writing and French for students in grades K-2. Both camps will run from June 13 to July 1, with the same schedule (8:00 a.m. to 12:00). Transportation is available at a small additional cost. If you or a relative/friend is interested, more information can be given to you by Ms. Carolina or at the accounting offices in school.
