Dear Nursery Parents,
Wow, it is amazing to
realize that this school year is almost over and that Pre-k is around the
corner for our lovely students.
This week in our Social Studies
unit we will begin learning about CHILDREN
AROUND THE WORLD. We will be focusing on Spain. We will learn about Spanish
culture, famous food, places and important facts about this country.
In math, will continue working with numbers. We will
work on how to represent and recognize numbers using tally marks, ten frames,
name of the number, one-to-one correspondence. This week we will be reviewing
numbers 0-10
The “End of the Year Party” will be the last school
day, June 3rd. We are planning on making a “Water Party” at school. We
will fill up 2 pools. We will have water balloons and children will have to
bring water toys to play with their friends. This party will be at school and we will make a pot-lock. Children will be asked to bring something to share with their friends on this day.
We will be reading and discussing stories from the
author MO WILLEMS.
Some of the books we are going to be reading this week
are the following:
On Monday, May 23rd Nursery will be having a birthday celebration
for Pilar at Snack time. You do not need to pack snack for your child on this
day. Drinks, meal and cake will be provided for the students.
SUMMER CAMPS AT DISCOVERY SCHOOL - Just like
last year, there will be two summer camps in the month of June. Discovery Zone
7 will be a fun, artistic and entertaining camp for children 3 to 9 years old.
There will also be a reinforcement camp for reading, writing and French for
students in grades K-2. Both camps will run from June 13 to July 1, with the
same schedule (8:00 a.m. to 12:00). Transportation is available at a small
additional cost. If you or a relative/friend is interested, more information
can be given to you by Ms. Carolina or at the accounting offices in school.
