Week of Nov, 16-20

Dear Parents,

This week we will begin learning about the last unit of colors white. We will be working on color white activities. The vocabulary words we are going to be focusing on are: salt, rice, rabbit, sugar, egg, cloud, marshmallow and astronaut.

If you have any items at home that are color white, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.

On Friday the students will have ¨White dress day¨ Please have your child wear a white piece of clothing. Thanks a lot for your involvement.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Humpty Dumpy”

I am attaching you the link of the video of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

In Science we will continue the unit about Food. We are going to be discussing healthy and unhealthy snacks. Children will get the chance to name food that is eaten during the breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: pancakes, juice, apple, banana, carrot, bread, sandwich, meat, milk, cereal and cheese. If you have any books or posters, or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.

Challenge at Home is a small activity assigned to do at home during the weekend with children. It could be a short story, a game, a song. Every Monday Morning we will discuss about this little challenge. The objective is to enjoy and to reinforce their learning and comprehension. We always appreciate your involvement with your children’s learning.

For this week, our Challenge at Home will be singing and dancing the nursery rhyme called “I’m a Little Teapot”. Hope you have lots of fun dancing and singing this beautiful rhyme. We are attaching the video for you.

Our Songfest is around the corner. Mark on your calendars this amazing show that will be on December 11^th.

Nursery and Prek will be performing the song YMCA. The children are all very excited. Children are asked to dress as village people. It is your choice on what to use for this costume. We know that some of you would like to buy it online or look for a stylist to do it, again your choice. We understand this has to be done with time. We are sharing some ideas on how you could dress them up.
